Daily Rhythms

A sense of security and safety is brought about for the child by our daily and weekly rhythm.

Children thrive when they know what is coming next through regular routine. The more rhythm, repetition, and ritual we bring into our children’s lives, the more harmony is created and children (and parents) can flourish.

Our days typically consist of creative fee play, art and sensory, outside exploration, and circle time with songs and movement. Upon enrollment you will receive a detailed example of a day in school. Each day of the week, the children can count on certain activities that bring about a sense of community and security.

Bread Making Day! The children explore measuring flour, watching the yeast bubble, and kneading our bread. We serve our bread buns with homemade jam and butter!

MONDAY

Muffin Day! This is one of the favorite days amongst the children as our muffins are different depending on the seasonal food available. We sweeten our muffins with just maple syrup and smashed bananas and add little treats into them like dried cranberries or sometimes……shhhhh…..chocolate chips!

TUESDAY

WEDNESDAY

On Wednesday we make our own granola! Another opportunity to learn fractions comes from baking! We measure and stir our oats….after we flake them ourselves of course!

THURSDAY

We have a seasonal Thursday which goes from apples that we make into apple sauce ourselves by peeling, chopping and cooking in the fall and winter to fruit salad in which everyone brings one piece of fruit and washing and cuts it up for our Community Fruit Salad!

FRIDAY

Fridays we cut pickles for our snack or make jam for our buns. Fridays are for finishing up looks ends of cooking for our school and the children are the best helpers!
